On the eve of the big concert season in which the most anticipated Italian stars and international celebrities will perform, AssoConcerti stands alongside the Una Nessuna Centomila Foundation for the prevention and fight against violence against women. It does so with the production of a video, entitled “È come sembra” (“It’s as it seems”), conceived by the artistic workshop of the Una Nessuna Centomila Foundation and directed by Anna Foglietta, to be shown on giant screens before the start of major live events, through its network of members representing all the main organizers and producers of live shows in Italy and their respective artists.
The video features, as a friendly contribution, actors and actresses beloved by audiences of all ages: Michela Cescon, Cristina Donadio, Anna Foglietta, Maria Chiara Giannetta, Sofia Iacuitto, Vittorio Magazzù, Paola Minaccioni, Vittoria Puccini, Lidia Ravera, Nicole Rossi, Giovanna Sannino, Lorenzo Zurzolo.
The direction is by Anna Foglietta, an actress and author who has always been attentive and sensitive to the issue, an active member and promoter of the artistic workshop of the Una Nessuna Centomila Foundation.
“As a woman, I have been questioning my role for years — how free I truly am and how much this freedom is hindered by cultural, environmental, and structural barriers. As a director, I wanted to address the issue of consent starting from harassment, creating a short film halfway between a commercial and a public service announcement. A visual story that allows young men and women to put themselves in the situation, to understand what they can do when — as too often happens — they find themselves in the middle of an ambiguous or clearly violent situation,” says Foglietta.
The aim is to convey messages to raise awareness and promote greater understanding to combat cultural prejudices and stereotypes, engaging the large audiences that fill stadiums and arenas throughout Italy. In fact, according to SIAE data, in 2023 the sector defined as “pop, rock, and light music” totaled 36,018 shows, with a total of 23,732,393 spectators. In 2024 alone, in the San Siro area of Milan, the shows presented by AssoConcerti members gathered over 1.5 million spectators.
“Thanks to the large audiences that live music now attracts, we believe we can join forces, putting our stages at the service of this civil cause. Beyond being our ‘mission’, live music, in this era of deep loneliness, is also proving to be the greatest opportunity to socialize and share emotions. While it may not be the solution, it can be a valuable vehicle to spread positive role models and plant the seeds of new awareness, especially among young people,” says Bruno Sconocchia, President of AssoConcerti.
“With ‘È come sembra’ we want to enter music venues with a direct, emotional language, capable of speaking to young men and women without filters. Bringing this message to the big Italian stages means affirming that the prevention of violence against women has no borders, no schedules, no seasons: it must be everywhere, even where lightheartedness is celebrated. This project was created to break the silence, to acknowledge that yes: sometimes it is just as it seems, to encourage women to say ‘enough!’, because it is violence, and it must be stopped.” said Giulia Minoli, President of the Una Nessuna Centomila Foundation.
Music has the power to unite and raise awareness. With “È come sembra”, AssoConcerti and the Una Nessuna Centomila Foundation launch a clear message: don’t look the other way. Because change begins with awareness.
