Beneficiary Centers

Selection Criteria for Beneficiary Anti-Violence Centers

Below are the criteria adopted by the Foundation to identify the beneficiary Anti-Violence Centers. However, access to the Foundation’s resources is not strictly conditional upon meeting all the listed requirements. Each request is assessed on a case-by-case basis by the Board of Directors, which reserves the right to carefully examine individual situations, taking into account the alignment with the Foundation’s mission and the expected impact of the proposed interventions. This flexibility allows for a more equitable and effective response to the diverse realities and specific needs of the organizations involved.

Criteria:

Alignment with the mission and values of the Foundation; having the prevention and elimination of male violence against women as a primary objective in the organization’s Statute.

Being an organization founded on feminist principles and women’s self-determination practices, operating from a gender-based perspective and in full respect of human rights, by offering shelter, protection, and support.

The action must be based on recognition of women’s subjective experience and on the promotion of their autonomy.

The intervention must center on relational work and on valuing each woman’s skills and timing, without ever imposing solutions.

This approach differs from other services in that it places the woman at the center, acknowledging her ability to choose, decide, and act.

Core guiding principles must include:

Trust in women and their ability to make decisions;

  • Rejection of any form of secondary victimization;
  • Confidentiality, anonymity, and free access to services;
  • Team-based work and ongoing training for staff;
  • Collaboration with public and private services, provided these also respect principles of self-determination and nonviolence.

Operating in territories affected by high levels of socio-economic deprivation, high female unemployment rates, weak or ineffective service networks, and limited access to public funding for Anti-Violence Centers.

  • Having a stable organizational and administrative structure, capable of managing and reporting on funds with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Demonstrating proven experience in designing and managing complex projects and funding.
  • Having already implemented innovative projects aimed at women’s empowerment and local development.

Operating in areas lacking adequate services, where new facilities need to be established to provide appropriate support and shelter for women.
